Robotics Cheese Labelling

The Scorpion 3D Stinger Camera is the perfect choice for automation – this post show how the Scorpion 3D Camera creates a 3D images of a running conveyor with cheese.

The Scorpion Stinger application feeds two robots information so they can perform automatic cheese labelling in a cheese factory .

The Scorpion 3D Camera can work @ distances from 500 mm to 5000 mm. The depth resolution starts @  0.1 mm. This is all you need in cheese labelling and other demanding tasks.

The camera in question is the 2.3 MPixel 3D Camera using Infrared (IR) Laser to create the 3D model. Models supports up to 29 MByte camera to increase the system resolution. IR makes the system very robust and almost unaffected by ambient light.

The camera targets Industrial Automation – multiple 3D cameras can work together to make 360 degrees 3D models while the objects are moving.
