Working in 3D Point Clouds is an important feature in Scorpion Vision Software. In this section I will present a 3D Point Cloud of a pipe where a cylinder is located and measured.
The PointCloud is created using a lasergrid, three cameras and CreatePointCloud3D.
The following procedure is performed:
- PlaneFit3D establish a 3D Reference System of the floor underneath the pipe
- Locates Pipe with CylinderFit3D
CylinderFit3D locates the pipe with six degrees of freedom – radius is 45.2 mm the fits RMS value of 0.82 mm
